Why and when you should buy BP oil company . (Public, NYSE:BP)

BP p.l.c. (BP) is an international oil and gas company. The Company operates in more than 80 countries, providing its customers with fuel for transportation, energy for heat and light, retail services and petrochemicals products. The Company operates two segments: Exploration and Production, and Refining and Marketing. Exploration and Production’s activities cover three key areas. Upstream activities include oil and natural gas exploration, field development and production. Midstream activities include pipeline, transportation and processing activities related to its upstream activities. Marketing and trading activities include the marketing and trading of natural gas, including liquefied natural gas (LNG), together with power and natural gas liquids (NGLs). Refining and Marketing’s activities include the supply and trading, refining, manufacturing, marketing and transportation of crude oil, petroleum and petrochemicals products and related services. has estimated the cost to clean up the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is $930 million so far, as the London-based oil giant continues to evaluate its “top kill” operation. Long term, I think an entry here with buying on the dips will yield a very nice return over the next 5 years. Eventually the oil spill will be cleaned up. It's a mess, will annoy environmentalists a lot more than it will affect the profits of this company in the long run. If you  bought XOM for $12 after the Valdez incident. You Made alot of $$ So I'll buy BP for $30 & my other half of my money if it dips below $ 24 a share . right now and see where it comes out in 10 - 15  years.Exxon did not die from the Valdeez spill and went on to be bigger and better. If you look at the past with Exxon, and realise even if it costs 10 to 20 billion to fix the mess they have created, the long term outlook will be healthy despite all the bumps and bruises it will suffer financially and imagewise.
