SunPower (SPWRA)-SunPower share posted much better-than-expected Q3 results.For the quarter, the company reported revenue of $550.6 million non-GAAP profits of 26 cents a share, sharply above the Street consensus at $471.7 million and 13 cents.



Nvidia Corp.(NVDA)-NVDA rose 3 percent to $12.99. The maker of chips for computer graphics cards said third-quarter adjusted earnings beat estimates and forecast fourth-quarter revenue will top the average analyst prediction.

Finisar Corp.(FNSR)-FNSR surged 13 percent to $20.26. The maker of fiber-optic transmission gear boosted its second- quarter sales and earnings forecast to above analysts’ estimates.



Walt Disney Co. (DIS)-DIS advanced 1.6 percent to $36.50. The world’s biggest media company said 2011 capital expenditures will increase by $1 billion.
