One central banker with a seat on the monetary-policy-setting Federal Open Market Committee said the Fed's bond-buying program is having the desired effect on the nation's economy.
John Williams, the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, said in a speech in Utah that he expects the economy to grow at a 2.5% rate next year and at a 3.5% clip in 2014, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The Fed's stimulus policies are keeping interest rates at historic lows, and pushing money into riskier investments such as stocks.
